IMMERSPHERE – 1st Brasilia International Fulldome Festival – will be held from 1-5th November and will occupy the entire space of the Brasilia Planetarium. The main purpose of the IMMERSPHERE festival is to promote the circulation of artistic works that dialogue with the poetics of immersion, especially through the use of fulldome projection. There will be a public call for fulldome artistic proposals, which will be selected by a qualified council of curators. During the festival, there will also be a series of workshops and round tables on artistic production for fulldome as well as a computer art exhibition.

The activities, such as workshops, roundtables and artistic presentations will be held at the Planetarium of Brasília. Opened on March 15, 1974, the Planetarium of Brasília was designed by architect Sérgio Bernardes and received the most advanced equipment at the time – the central astronomical projector Spacemaster from Carl Zeiss. In 2009 the Brasilia Planetarium underwent a modernization process with adjustments in the Spacemaster system and installation of the modern PowerDome VIII Special digital system composed of eight full-dome digital projectors with 50,000:1 contrast, with a total resolution of 4K and sound system digital surround 5.1.
